Accountant I

*Accountant I* *Job Description:* The overall purpose of this position is to maintain an accurate general ledger for efficient company reporting and decision-making purposes.
This position will accomplish this through tasks such as maintaining up-to-date and compliant customer/vendor records, remitting timely payments, and regularly reconciling accounts.
*Status: *Full-Time *Supervisory Responsibilities:* · None *Duties/Responsibilities:* · Codes/posts various types of vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
· Sets up new vendors and maintains accurate/updated vendor files.
· Prepares and submits annual 1099s under the supervisor’s direction.
· Reconciles vendor statements monthly and resolves differences.
· Manages AP email account, entering invoices and interfacing with vendors.
· Reconciles bank and credit card accounts at least monthly.
· Documents bank/credit card transactions via receipts and other authorizations.
· Processes weekly payments via check/wire/ACH as authorized.
· Reconciles General Ledger accounts as requested.
· Assists with Month End Closing Activities as assigned.
· Maintains petty cash and prepares bank deposits as needed.
· Performs miscellaneous filing and clerical duties.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
